At the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, we love a good surprise and last night’s announcement that Eddie George, star of our Winter Shakespeare production of Othello and former Tennessee Titans running back, was to be inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame was done with “pomp, with triumph, and with reveling” (to steal a phrase from Shakespeare) and surprise aplenty.

Eddie George was surprised at curtain call when Dr. Bill Emendorfer, Executive Director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, announced his induction, scheduled for May 17th, 2014. We’re honored that Dr. Emendorfer chose to include us in this special moment. You can watch a brief video of the announcement below.
